In a world where diversity and inclusion are at the forefront of meaningful change, it’s essential to celebrate amazing organisations like People Like Us.
This award-winning not-for-profit is on a mission to uplift and support professionals from Black, Asian, Mixed Race, and minoritized ethnic backgrounds within the fields of media, marketing, and communications. Last night, I had the honour of speaking at a People Like Us event hosted at the BT Group office in Aldgate, and it was a night to remember.
Who Are People Like Us?
People Like Us is not just an organisation; it’s a force of change and empowerment. Founded by two visionary brothers, Sheeraz Gulsher and Darain Faraz, People Like Us stands as a symbol of breaking down barriers and creating a strong foundation for genuine inclusion in the workplace. Their mission extends beyond their personal journeys; it encompasses the transformation of entire industries and the promotion of equitable pay, regardless of heritage or industry.

My Journey: Overcoming Challenges and Finding Purpose
It was an incredible opportunity for me to discuss my podcast, HER Power, and share my personal journey. I spoke about overcoming challenges and trauma, finding purpose, and unlocking my full potential. The audience’s engagement and enthusiasm were truly remarkable, making the experience all the more memorable.
Leroy Brito brought the energy as the MC for the evening.
I’d also like to express my heartfelt appreciation to PR Gurus Shaline Manhertz and Kristianah Fasunloye for connecting me with People Like Us and for their unwavering support.
